“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:16 KJV.
The gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is rooted from the birth of Jesus, when the angel sent from God visited His mother, virgin Mary to announce to her that she would have a son.
“Mathew 1: 18 KJV, Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Did you see that? Jesus is “God with us”, but the bible says in, “John 4:24, God is a Spirit, they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and truth”.
The question is, if God is a Spirit, how then is “Jesus God with us”?
The bible says in the book of Genesis 1: 1-3 KJV, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
John 1:1-4 KJV, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
The two scriptures above clearly proves that there were three necessary agents responsible for creation, God, His Spirit, and His word. Which was why God said, “Genesis 1:26 KJV, And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” God said, “let us”, showing that it was not just Him, but His Spirit and His word. This exppains the doctrine of Trinity, God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit, these all are one. “John 1:14 KJV, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
That same “word” that was with God in the beginning by which God created everything, that same word that was with God and was God who is a Spirit, became flesh and lived among human beings, to fulfil the prophecy that God gave through His holy Prophet Isaiah, and was sent to the virgin Mary, that she a virgin who had not had any sexual relationship with any man at this time though she was betrothed to Joseph, would give birth to a son and He will be called Emmanuel, which means, “God with us Mathew 1: 23”
“Isaiah 9:6 KJV, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. 8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. 9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,”
Due to lack of Spiritual understanding, a lot of people get confused and argue when we say, Jesus is God, most times during my personal soul winning times, I had some people ask questions like, “how is Jesus God when the bible says He is the son of God?” And I always took my time to explain this truth because it takes spiritual insight to understand it. The truth is Jesus Christ is God. God is a Spirit the bible clearly states, John 4:24. He didn’t just appear on earth and say, “I am Jesus”, He sent His word through His angel to a virgin, Mary, and that word formed a baby in her womb. Mary asked the angel, how can this be, since I have not had any sexual relationship with a man, I am a virgin,
Luke 1: 34 KJV, Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God”, Did you see that? Jesus was conceived in the womd of His mother, virgin Mary when the Holy Spirit came upon Mary, that is why He is called the son of God. He is also called, son of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit gave birth to Jesus, that is why Jesus Himself said in, “John 14:10, My father who lives in me, Does all the works”, He was talking about the Holy Spirit.
The bible says,
1Timothy 3:16 KJ, And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”.
It is worthy of note that Jesus Christ was born purposely to die and save the world from sin. The bible says, “Romans 3:23 KJV, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”.
This was because of the fall due to disobedience of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, which was how sin came to the world, but Jesus came to pay for the full penalty of that sin in order to reconcile humans to God through the act of redemption, Jesus Christ was the redemptive sacrifice for mankind. Redemption means, to save, recover by paying a price. He paid with His blood to cancel the sin committed by Adam and if which separated humans from God and by that sacrifice, He reconciled and made peace between humans and God. So anyone who believes in Jesus is reconciled back and made peace with God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
The devil was one of the angels of God but he repelled against God and God cast him away from His presence, that’s how evil came into the word.
“Isaiah 14:13-14 KJV, For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”
Hell is the final judgement place reserved for the devil and those who follow him.

My God and my father, I come to you in total submission to your will, I am grateful and thankful that you send your son, Jesus Christ to pay for my sin. I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ died and was buried for my sin and that He rose again on the third day to give me a new life . Today, I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life and I receive eternal life, God kind of life into my heart, I declare that I am saved, and born again in Jesus name, amen.
Now that you are born again, it is important to grow in your relationship with Jesus and this can only happen through faith in God’s word. We invite you to join our weekly meetings, where we will help you to build your faith through accurate teaching of God’s word.
Purpose: I just got born again and will want to join your weekly meetings, to learn more about my new life in Christ and build my faith in Jesus to have a closer walk with God.
TENETS OF OUR FAITH IN THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.
1. We believe that Jesus Christ is God, John 1:1-14, 1 Timothy 3:16.
2. We believe in the trinity, God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit, that all are one in three persons, Genesis 1:1-3
3. We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God to save anyone that believes, Romans 1:16-17
4. We believe the only name given for salvation is the name of Jesus Christ, Acts 4:12
5. We believe that anyone who receives Jesus Christ is righteous, 2 Corinthians 5:21
6. We believe in the doctrine of baptism as a sign of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, Romans 6:4-5
7. We believe Jesus Christ is the way to God, John 14:6
